šŸˆ Woody Marks & Week 5 Waivers

Players to add ahead of Week 5, along with D/ST streamers and deeeeeep dives.

Good morning.

We blinked and Week 5 is already here…

The leaves are starting to change colors, the air is getting cool, and every week you seem to lose another starter to injury. A tradition unlike any other.

But in true fantasy football fashion, we brush past the fact that a player’s entire career might be hanging in the balance after a catastrophic injury—just to immediately check who’ll be replacing him. Gotta love capitalism.

So speaking of replacements, let’s look at what the waiver wire has to offer this week...

Running Back

Woody Marks // Troy Taormina, Imagn Images

Texans RB Woody Marks (33%) led the team's backs in rushes, rushing yards, rushing TDs, targets, catches, receiving yards and receiving TDs, finishing with 119 yards from scrimmage and two scores, per NFL.com’s Dan Parr. It might be time for the rookie to become the guy…

Saints RB Kendre Miller (6%) is the latest handcuff to enter ā€œFLEX with benefitsā€ territory, as he saw 11 carries to Kamara’s 15. Miller ran for 65 yards and a TD on Sunday and is averaging 3.7 yards after contact on the season, compared to 2.7 for Kamara. They both have 12 missed tackles forced as well, but Kamara has done that on nearly 40 more carries than Miller, per NBC Sports’ Kyle Dvorchak.

Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier (36%) is a top-tier handcuff with some standalone value in positive game scripts. He posted 16/51/1 rushing in a victory over the Commanders in Week 4 and has reached double-digit carries in three of his first four games heading into Atlanta’s Week 5 bye, per Fantasy Points.

  • Check if Bucs RB Rachaad White (48%) is available. Bucky Irving is getting an MRI on his ankle, and HC Todd Bowles said he’s concerned. White’s a must-start with huge PPR upside if Irving has to miss any time.

  • Steelers RB Kenneth Gainwell (36%) was likely picked up Sunday morning before he went off for 31.4 PPR points. He should return to his backup role after a Week 5 bye, but he’s at least proven he’s a capable handcuff.

  • Titans RB Tyjae Spears (28%) is eligible to come off IR this week to backup Tony Pollard. It’s always good to roster handcuffs.
