✅ Start ‘Em
Malik Willis vs. DET: The Lions are the NFL’s most extreme pass funnel (+8.2% pass rate over expected allowed) and have surrendered the most schedule-adjusted fantasy PPG to opposing QBs (+6.9), per Fantasy Points’ Ryan Heath.
Jared Goff @ MIA: “[The Dolphins] are allowing the highest completion percentage of all time (76.9%) through eight weeks, and they also rank dead last in yards per attempt allowed. This means they are allowing completions at a record pace, and those completions are also well downfield.” — The Fantasy Footballers’ Mike Wright
Matthew Stafford @ WAS: He’s dealing with an injury to his throwing arm, but Washington has given up the 3rd-most fantasy points to opposing QBs and has let four different QBs finish with over 24 fantasy points in a game, per RotoBaller’s Joey Pollizze.
❌ Sit ‘Em
Bryce Young vs. DEN: Young has dominated weak opponents and struggled mightily against strong ones. This week, he takes on one of those strong ones, as the Broncos are 7th in the league in EPA per dropback, per NBC Sports’ Kyle Dvorchak.
C.J. Stroud @ LAC: The Chargers have allowed the 7th-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs, and only Kirk Cousins in Week 2 has scored more than 18.5 fantasy points against them, per CBS Sports’ Jamey Eisenberg.
Geno Smith @ KC: The Chiefs are allowing the 5th-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs, per Eisenberg. Look elsewhere for a streamer this week.
😴 Sleepers
Kirk Cousins @ SF: The 49ers deploy Cover 3 at the NFL’s 4th-highest rate. Among 30 qualifying QBs, Kirk Cousins ranks 6th in fantasy points per dropback (0.54) and 4th in yards per attempt (9.20, a +36% boost relative to all other shells) against Cover 3 this year, per Ryan Heath.
J.J. McCarthy @ PHI: The Eagles have allowed the 3rd-most catches and the 3rd-most TDs on deep shots. McCarthy leads the league in deep throw rate at 20.4%. He’s also 2nd in yards per attempt (21.5) and completion rate (60%) on downfield throws, per Kyle Dvorchak.
