MARKET TRENDS 🧐

Running Back

Uncle Rico // NBC Sports

💰 Buy Rico Dowdle. He went nuclear for a couple weeks there, but for the last two games he’s split the backfield with Chuba Hubbard. Per Next Gen Stats, here’s how the two backs compare during that time:

Success Rate:
- Dowdle: 44%
- Hubbard: 23%

Rushing Yards Over Expected per Rush:
- Dowdle: +1.2
- Hubbard: -1.4

Yards per Carry:
- Dowdle: 5.71
- Hubbard: 3.57

And word out of Carolina suggests Uncle Rico SZN is upon us…

He already has solid FLEX value, but if his role grows, he’ll be a locked in RB2 with RB1 spike week potential.

📉 Sell J.K. Dobbins. R.J. Harvey impressed last week with three TDs, but that’s not the only reason you may want to shift away from the vet. So far this season, no team has had a friendlier fantasy RB schedule than the Broncos, per J.J. Zachariason. But going forward, Denver backs have one of the toughest schedules across the league. And, in the fantasy playoffs, they get stingy matchups against the Packers and Chiefs.

➕ Add Kareem Hunt. He’s only rostered in 42% of ESPN leagues, yet Isiah Pacheco is week-to-week with a knee injury. Stream Hunt in the meantime, who was the RB13 per game from Week 5 to Week 12 last year without Pacheco, per Underdog’s Hayden Winks, despite averaging 3.6 yards per carry on an offense not as good as this one.

🤚 Buy high on Chase Brown. Since Joe Flacco‘s arrival, Brown’s yards per carry has skyrocketed to 6.9, with 74.3 yards per game, including 86 yards coming on explosive runs, per Fantasy in Frames’ Kyle Zeigler.

📉 Sell Breece Hall. Isaiah Davis is getting more and more involved in the offense. Plus, the Jets’ rest of season schedule isn’t favorable for RBs, ranking 5th-worst according to RotoViz Strength of Schedule. Not to mention the uncertainty surrounding a potential trade—while he could go somewhere and become the bellcow, he could just as easily go somewhere and be part of a committee. Sell high after a big week against Cincinnati’s Swiss cheese defense.

💰 Buy Derrick Henry. We’ve mentioned him a few times in these newsletters, but it’s worth repeating—Henry will be a league-winner. After a rough start to the season, he has now racked up double-digit fantasy points in each of the last two weeks. This week, he faces one of the worst rushing defenses in the league in the Miami Dolphins, and Lamar Jackson will likely be back, opening up more running lanes for him.

💰 Buy Jaylen Warren. Two of his worst outings of the season have come in the last three weeks (against the stout Browns and Packers defenses). So now is the time to pounce, because after Week 10, Warren will face five straight defenses inside the top-10 for fantasy points allowed to RBs, per Yahoo’s Justin Boone.
